The Pastor's Corner

Listen to a sermon from the Preacher:

Greetings from the desk of
Pastor Randy Starr
July 29, 2010

July WAS VBS!  Every morning, July 19-23 (9-11:30), over 190 children ages 4-HS Srs. convened each day for our annual VBS.  This year’s theme was Emergency—911 featuring representatives from the Fire department and State Highway Patrol.  Seventeen found Christ and six others found assurance of their salvation.

August is a lighter month for the church as we take time to plan the coming Fall activities.  We do meet hundreds of people every year at our two booths at the Red Lion Street Fair.  Come out and visit us on Saturday, August 14.  We plan to have a treat for you that day—popcorn.  The Ambassadors (age 55+) have an activity on Aug. 17th and our youth have one on Aug. 21.  Master’s Club kicks off its year Wed., Aug. 25.  On Sun., Aug. 29, we will have a baptismal service after the morning service and hear Howard Smith missionary to American Prisons in the evening.

Don’t forget Reformers Unanimous every Friday from 7-9 pm in the Annex Gym to help those with addictions.

See our home page for a thumbnail of our upcoming “Calendar and Events.”  You can view some of our calendar for the next three months when you click on the “News & Events” tab at the top right.

Mt. Zion is a best described as a place of vision and fresh starts where YOU can jumpstart your relationship with the Lord, grow in your knowledge of the Bible, find a place to serve, and meet many new friends.  Your whole family will find a variety of opportunities and ministries.

We make no apologies for being known as an evangelistic, discipling, loving Bible preaching church that believes in taking a stand.  Isn’t it time for you to return to … “Church the way it used to be”?

If you are looking for this kind of church, do something about it.  Serving Christ can be fresh and exciting again.  Come and worship with us this Sunday.  We are sure that you’ll find that the drive IS worth the difference.  Here’s how close we are to you:
