God's Simple Plan of Salvation

The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven. It is absolutely impossible for man to save himself.  Therefore he must depend on God's grace.
Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)

Good works cannot save you. Salvation comes from placing our total faith in Jesus Christ. Church membership, baptism, religious rituals or sacraments cannot and will not wash away sin.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Admit that you are a sinner. Adam and Eve sinned against God by disobeying His command and eating of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden.  As a result of their sin, they brought sin upon the human race.  In order to go to Heaven, we must be forgiven of sin.  This can only be accomplished by being reconciled to God through His Son Jesus Christ.

- "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)
- "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)
- "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:10)

Understand that the penalty for sin is an eternity in hell. The Bible tells us that the "wages" or payment for our sin is death and hell.  The first is the physical death.   The second is a spiritual death.

- "For the wages of sin is death;" (Romans 6:23a)
- "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." (Revelation 20:14)
- "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20:15)

Repent and believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead. Repentance is sorrow over sin that causes us to make an about face and by faith, turn to Christ. Christ died on the cross for our sins because he loved us.  His death paid for all of our sins. Salvation is available and free to "whosoever will."

- Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)
- "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" (Acts 17:30)
- "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
- "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
- "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)
- "But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23b)

Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior. It isn't enough to say that we go to church or live the right life.  We must believe that we are sinners, that the payment for our sin is death, and that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and arose again.  Through prayer, you must ask for forgiveness and receive the free gift of salvation.

- "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)
- "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

Dear God,
I am a sinner and need forgiveness.  I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood,
died for my sin, and arose the third day.   I turn from sin to invite Christ to come
into my heart and life as my personal Savior.

- "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12)
- "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Cor. 5:17)
