Spiritual battle can be wearisome, and at times a believer can feel powerless against enemy forces. However, tools are to given to us in the Word of God, that equip a believer in times of spiritual warfare.
Revelation 12:9-12 (KJV)
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Who are “they” in v. 11? The answer is found at the end of v. 10 – “our brethren” who Satan accuses.
For countless ages, Satan has had access to the presence of God. We read of his accusations in connection with Job and in connection with Joshua the high priest. We overcome Satan’s false and true accusations against us by the blood of the Lamb! Be thankful today that whatever choices you have made or sins you have committed to equip Satan with evidence against you, that the blood of the Lamb overcomes His accusations. Here the Bible paints an ongoing work of Satan and that is accusing the brethren day and night.
John Butler gives good advice to the Christian when he says, “When you feel guilty, how do you respond to that guilt? Let me urge you to respond to that guilt by trusting in Christ’s death on the cross to pay for it, to remove any power Satan has to accuse you because of it, and to secure your justification before God. There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and none of the charges that Satan brings against them will stand up in court.” Why because of the precious blood of Christ!
Below are words of testimony of a saved individual.
Colossians 1:14 (KJV)
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Are you in spiritual warfare today – depressed, guilty, condemned, hopeless, beat down? When the enemy penetrates your mind and accuses you and inflicts torture on your mind for present or past sins, it is time to run to Revelation 12 and remember the power of the blood of Christ, and the testimony that you have because of Christ (forgiveness through His blood, according to the riches of His grace). What powerful tools we have through God’s Word! Live in the confidence of the cleansing blood of Christ. If you have known, unconfessed sin as a Christian, then act on 1 John 1:7-9 right now!
1 John 1:7-9 (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
